Although much of the Divine Liturgy will continue to be done live, we would like to have the choir collaborate on key aspects of this service. Links will be provided to the particulars of what will be recorded on a weekly basis. Also interested in your inputs regarding where we should begin and how we should progress in this.
One area that we can explore together is the depth and fullness of what we are participating in as we sing. To this end, I thought it might be useful to begin with a piece we are likely to collaborate virtually upon , Holy Anaphora (Section 21 in our Choir books). I’ll use source material from a book I find very useful, ‘The Divine Liturgy A Commentary in the Light of the Fathers’ by Hiermonk Gregorios. It includes what the Deacon is doing, what the Priest is doing, and what the Choir is doing. More importantly, it includes deep reflections and commentary about each step underway.
