Our Mission & Approach For Recording

Our choir faces an unprecedented challenge and opportunity. How do we contribute in a meaningful way to the church services while still respecting all of the guidelines and restrictions now imposed by the Coronavirus ? Father Tom has agreed to invest in a technology that gives the choir a unique opportunity to contribute on a virtual basis to our weekly services.

Step 1: Download the SPIRE App

Each of you can download an application called SPIRE which will give you an ability to import and record tracks by simply using your IPHONE . Unfortunately, this application is only available in a usable form with the IPHONE. We need to understand how many folks have ANDROID phones and explore how best to overcome this challenge. For example, Seraphim uses an ANDROID phone but does have access to a IPAD that he was able to use successfully for recording.

Step 2: Experiment With Creating Your Own Recording Using SPIRE

I think you’ll find the SPIRE app very intuitive to use. Try recording with the microphone of your phone a new recording. Experiment with this. Call Bruce if you have questions or concerns at 770-330-8397.

Step 3: Collaborate With Choir By Adding Your Section’s Track To Rebecca’s Recording; Then Send It To The Next Choir Collaborator

Rebecca will begin each recording with a melody track. She will then send this first to the SOPRANO section for the week, then to the ALTO section for the week, then to the TENOR section, and then to the BASS section. The BASS section will then return the recording to BRUCE for final mixing and production. When you’ve finished your recording, make sure you send it to the next collaborator by taking the option to send this as a ‘Spire Project’ and then take the option for ‘Share Via Link”

Step 4: Final Recording Will Available On Choir Website & Used In Livestream Services

We need to come up with how best to ensure these recordings are easily accessible to whomever is involved in conducting our services. Let’s discuss how best to handle this.
